ECFB FoundationEdgar County Farm Bureau Foundation funds efforts to support agriculture and education, with a specific focus on funding Agriculture in the Classroom and administering a college scholarship program. From time to time, ECFB Foundation funds worthy causes supporting agriculture and farm families such as flood relief drives or tornado aid.

Agriculture in the ClassroomAITC promotes agricultural awareness and consumer education among students, teachers, and the general public in order to ensure our continued access to a safe, abundant, and affordable domestic food supply. The committee also works with educators to provide educational opportunities and user-friendly educational materials for all ages. AITC designs lessons on agricultural topics to teach in classrooms as well as sponsoring speakers for special events like Conservation Day and Farm Safety Day.

Downtown Paris Farmers' MarketNamed the Illinois Farm Bureau's 2018 "Most Outstanding Project" in the Marketing and Commodities program area, the Paris Downtown Farmers' Market is a highlighted project of the Edgar County Farm Bureau. Beginning in June, local vendors set up every Saturday during the summer to create a bazaar around the town square in Paris. Vendors sell a range of goods including locally grown fruits and vegetables, farm fresh eggs, honey, homemade soaps, a variety baked goods, and much more!
Starting the first Saturday in June, Farmers' Market opens at 8am and lasts until noon each Saturday until mid-September. Here's a list of vendors. |

Taste of Edgar CountyThe Taste of Edgar County promotes local businesses and connects them to the public. Held annually, this event features focuses on promoting local food vendors. Edgar County Farm Bureau even had its own "Talk to a Farmer" booth set up where attendees were able to test their agricultural knowledge for "Farm Bucks" to spend at the event. This event brings vendors to a central location where the public can come and sample what local small businesses have to offer. Since business come from all of Edgar County, many participants connect with businesses they have never tried and/or heard of without making an extra trip across the county.

Annual MeetingEvery year Farm Bureau offices across the state gather to meet for the Illinois Farm Bureau Annual Meeting. This meeting provides a place for each office to be represented by a team of delegates. Edgar County Farm Bureau understands the importance of its members being represented and sends a team of delegates each year. During the annual meeting, delegates discuss and debate Farm Bureau policy as well as connect with member from different districts. Different sessions offer insights and future outlooks for the delegates to return to their home offices. Many state legislatures also attend the ILFB Annual Meeting, and the governor addresses all of the Illinois Farm Bureau delegates.

Young LeadersEdgar County Farm Bureau’s Young Leaders program tackles the unique needs of men and women 18-35 years old, who have passion for all aspects of agriculture. Young Leaders build community and promote agriculture both in Edgar County and on the state level. On a local level, Young Leaders build relationships with youth and encourage leadership development after high school FFA and 4-H activities, and through state level programs such as Agricultural Leaders of Tomorrow and the annual Young Leaders Conference, members learn how to build on a foundation for leadership.

Edgar County Farm Bureau Foundation ScholarshipsThe Edgar County Farm Bureau Foundation is committed to assuring agriculture’s future through our funding of quality agriculture programs. The Foundation provides $3500 dollars in scholarships.
