Relationship between Country Financial and Edgar County Farm Bureau

In 1925, Illinois Farm Bureau farmers recognized farmers’ need for fire insurance for farm buildings. As a result, Illinois Farm Bureau formed COUNTRY Financial® to provide Illinois farmers with fire insurance. In 1927, COUNTRY Financial® added auto insurance followed by life insurance in 1929. Today, the companies of COUNTRY Financial® offer a wide range of personal and business insurance options to consumers, as well as retirement, education, and investment products.

Do I have to be a farmer or work in agriculture to join Edgar County Farm Bureau?

No! Not at all. In fact, here in Edgar County, approximately 60% of our members carry non farmer memberships and 40% of our members carry business or farmer memberships.
